Lez Talk Books Radio Presents: Leona Beasely
Leona Beasley was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia; Mills College in Oakland, California; and the New School University in New York City. Among the many things, she has taught art to the very young and to elders, wrote arts columns, been an educational consultant, and worked in children’s television.
Leona writes about the eccentric, often queer and funny characters from her Southern youth despite having escaped to the North to get away from them. She now resides with her wife, small son, and mom-in-law in Jersey City, New Jersey. But she prefers you to keep her location on the down-low.
In this episode, Stephanie and Lauren chat with Leona about her debut novel, Something Better Than Home.
