#TBT with La Toya Hankins

#TBT – Today, we’re pressing rewind to revisit a conversation with our own La Toya Hankins. If you haven’t read a story by La Toya, what are you waiting for? She’s penned short stories for various publications and has released two novels: SBF Seeking… (2012) and K-RHO: The Sweet Taste of Sisterhood (2013). She’s an active supporter of LGBTQ issues and health disparities that affect her community. Her literary influences include Zora Neale Hurston, Walter Mosley, Anne Rice, and Pearl Cleage. Her motto, borrowed from Hurston, is: “I do not weep at the world, I am too busy sharpening my oyster knife.”
